Custom Built QMK Detachable USB-C Signature Series Kinesis Advantage2 Ergo Keyboard

Built starting at $509
Current build times are: 120-150 days

Details

  • This keyboard includes a custom QMK controller for the ultimate level of programmability and macro creation. (does not use Smartset application, or allow foot controls)
  • The QMK controller is built with the Raspberry Pi RP2040 chipset for extreme reliability with all function keys working, and all LED indicator lights are soft white for a clean look.
  • Custom USB-C disconnect at the back of the board so you may use your own cable (includes our braided black usb-c cable)

  • Built by hand by Upgrade Keyboards and fine tuned to your specs.
  • Comes with the standard black top and bottom case
  • Concave keywells are scooped into a bowl shape to reduce hand and finger extension and relax muscles.
  • Separating the keywells positions the arms at shoulder-width to keep wrists straight and perpendicular to the home row to reduce abduction and ulnar deviation.
  • The keys are arranged in vertical columns (rather than staggered) to better reflect the natural motion of your fingers.
  • The two keywells are “tented” at an optimal 20 degree angle moderately raising the thumb side of the hand. Tenting puts you in a more neutral, “handshake” posture and reduces the stresses caused by forearm pronation.
  • The integrated palm supports reduce stressful bending of the wrists and provide a convenient place to rest your hands when you are not actively typing. Self-adhesive, cushioned palm pads (included) can be attached for maximum comfort.
  • The thumb clusters include frequently-used keys such as Enter, Space, Backspace, and Delete to redistribute the workload away from your relatively weaker and overused little fingers to stronger thumbs.
  • The Advantage2 may look big, but it actually has a smaller footprint than most keyboards because we eliminated the numeric 10-key so you can place the mouse closer to your body, reducing painful “over-reach”.
  • Plug-and-Play compatible with all USB operating systems (no special drivers required) Windows 7, 8, 10, & 11, Mac OS X 10.4+, Linux, Android, Chrome
  • Width: 16.50 inches Depth (front-to-back): 8 inches Max height: 2.875 inches Distance between F & J Keys: 9 inches Weight: 2.20 lbs USB cable length: 6 feet 3 inches; 6 feet 1 inch from back edge of keyboard

Notes about QMK

QMK is an open source firmware, allowing you to program the board with massive levels of functionality and fine tuning. This Advantage2 cannot be used with the Smartset application, and cannot be used with foot pedals.

The default QMK configuration and keymap is a standard QWERTY layout, and includes all 4 LED's. The keypad LED is linked to the keypad button on the F-row, and corresponds to the second layer. The program button only works on this second layer to avoid accidentally programming the keyboard. Once you are on the second layer, simply press the program keyboard, and you will be able to flash your custom uf2 file.
