WARRANTY, RETURN, CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Your Satisfaction Is Guaranteed:
All pre-built products purchased in our online store can be returned within 14 calendar days after purchase if you are not satisfied. Custom built keyboards are not eligible for returns as they are built to the customers specification - we will work with you to get your custom built keyboard working correctly, and if it cannot be corrected to original specification, then an exchange of a comparable item and value may be allowed.
Keyboard parts may be returned if unopened, and have not been installed.
Switches are not eligible for return for a refund as we cannot verify use without teardown and cannot resell a possibly used switch. We may allow switches to be returned for store credit, but that is done at our discretion and is handled on a case by case basis. Please contact us if you want to know more.
PCB’s may not be returned after installation, so it is the customers responsibility to verify that it is the correct part, and functional prior to installation.
Please note:
For U.S., Canada, and Mexico customers, Upgrade Keyboards offers returns within a 14 day refund period without a restocking fee, but customers must pay to ship the item back to our location. Item must be in original condition.
For all returns within 14 calendar days after purchase if you are not satisfied by our products, simply contact us using the contact form and email us your order number to proceed.
If your keyboard has issues, our trained techs can connect to any computer connected to the internet and help in troubleshooting the problem. If it cannot be diagnosed remotely, the customer can send the keyboard in for repairs covered by warranty anytime within the first year, free of charge. Please read below for further details and exclusions.
Order Cancellations and refunds:
Once an order is placed and paid, a credit card processing fee is invoked by the credit card and payment processing companies. This is not a fee coming to Upgrade Keyboards, but going to the payment processor.
- Any orders over $20 and paid via Visa or Mastercard will incur a 4.5%+$3 cancellation processing fee.
- Any orders over $20 and paid via American Express will incur a 6%+$3 cancellation processing fee.
- Any orders over $20 paid via PayPal will incur a 5.5%+$3.75 cancellation processing fee.
- Any orders over $20 paid via Apple Pay or Google Pay will incur a 5.5%+$4.00 cancellation processing fee.
As of Jan 2025, due to provisioned inventory and an increase in tariffs- orders of custom built keyboards may only be canceled within 24 hours of placing the order. Past the initial 24 hours, custom built keyboard orders may not be canceled. If you have any questions about this policy at all - please ask BEFORE you place an order.
While we will try our best to process cancellations - no cancellation is guaranteed once an order is placed.
Return and Refund Policy:
We will process refunds within 14 days after the purchase if you are not satisfied with your keyboard parts. Custom built keyboards are built per the customers specifications, and are not eligible for return - we will work with our customers to correct something they want to change on their order however. Switches are not eligible for return.
We can only refund/exchange up to original purchase price if the item is unopened/unused. If an item shows any signs of use, we will be unable to refund your purchase - this includes installing bumpons, soldering in switches, building/lubing stabilizers, applying band aid mods or Stab Pads, broken hot swap sockets, etc.
The refund process is started after you have returned the product to us. Upon receipt of the product we carefully check it to make sure that the product has not been damaged or used. All shipments to us must be insured, or the customer assumes all liability if the package is lost or damaged.
After a return has been received, please allow 5 to 7 days for the refund to be shown on your credit/debit card, bank account, or paypal.

Shipping damage, missing items, or problems in shipping:
All shipping problems must be reported within 72 hours of delivery. While we make every effort to over-package all orders, shipping couriers can be rough with packages. All issues must be reported to us within 72 hours of delivery, so please check your order as soon as it arrives to ensure that nothing has been damaged in shipping.

PRODUCT WARRANTY
LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY (“Limited Warranty”)
All of our Built and upgraded keyboards are covered by a 1 Year Limited Warranty. Upgrade Keyboards warrants all customized products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship (subject to the terms set forth herein) when used under normal conditions for the applicable warranty period from the date of purchase. If you are purchasing an unmodified/prebuilt product, then the original manufacturers warranty is to be consulted.
If the product is, or contains, a rechargeable battery, Upgrade Keyboards does not provide any warranties for the battery life, as all rechargeable batteries can be expected to lose charging capacity over time and this is not considered a defect. Your actual battery life will vary depending on the conditions in which it is used.
If a product fails or shows signs of not functioning as intended during the 1 year limited warranty, the customer must ship the item back to Upgrade Keyboards. All repair, replacement, or reimbursement costs will be covered by Upgrade Keyboards from there forward in the process.
All keyboard parts (switches, stabilizers, pcb’s, plates, cases, etc) are warrantied by the manufacturer of that part. Please refer to the manufacturer for warranty terms.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover problems or damage resulting from, but not limited to, any of the following:
- Wear and tear associated with normal use (wearing down of key caps, natural wearing of springs and moving parts)
- DIY parts MUST be tested prior to installation. Once installed, we cannot be responsible for failures. This includes all PCB's. ALL DIY parts are tested prior to shipment.
- Food, drink, or any liquid spill or contamination of the product, especially on the circuit board.
- Any modification or repair, accidental damage or disassembly, not done by Upgrade Keyboards.
- Removal of any manufacturer label(s) or sticker(s).
- Any improper operation, including any use not in accordance with any supplied product instructions.
- Connection to any improper voltage supply.
- Any other cause which does not relate to a product defect in materials or manufacturing.
- Counterfeit products.
- Software not written by or for Upgrade Keyboards
- Improper installation, ripped hot swap sockets, torn solder pads
